"Woodcrest Guitar Co. is founded on years of customizing, upgrading and repairing guitars for myself and friends, assembling frankensteins, improving guitars and building from scratch... As a result - I gained tons of experience with types and brands of guitars and I love 'em all. My passion for guitars is second to none as a player for over 25 years.
Seeing as alot of my time is already spent playing and working on guitars, I thought I'd open my services to the public.
I'm here to help make your guitar play and sound its very best without cleaning out your wallet.
Enough about me, looking forward to hearing from you!"

This is often necessary if you've purchased a brand new guitar and it wasn't setup at the store, hung on the wall for a long time and just went out of spec, or you have an old guitar that hasn't been checked over and adjusted in a long time. What do you get from our full setup?:
Floyd Rose style bridges can go out of adjustment after excessive use and may need some adjustments on top of everything else involved in a full setup. These can be tricky, so results may vary depending on its condition. What do you get from our "Floyd Rose" setup?:
It might be time to replace your nut, or your new guitar has a cheap plastic nut (notorious for killing tone). If a pre-slotted Tusq nut is the way you want to go, we can help you by doing this:
It might be time to replace your nut, or your new guitar has a cheap plastic nut (notorious for killing tone). If you want (in our opinion) the best nut... We'll cut a custom shaped, fitted and slotted bone nut for your guitar:
If your guitar isn't staying in tune, and your nut has been deemed fine... You might need new tuners! Or maybe you simply want to upgrade. Either way, here's what we do:
Your guitar might have a need for a type of repair we're not listing above... That doesn't mean we can't help you. Every guitar is different and every player subjects it to different conditions, accidents happen, parts wear out... and that's ok! It's all part of the game.
Contact us with your custom repair needs and we'll assess the damage and come up with a solution and price quote on a case-per-case basis. Our main objective is to get you playing again!
In most cases, fret/string buzz is caused by improper neck relief and you get buzzing within the first 12 frets. When the buzzing is from the 12th fret on, it's usually caused by a high fret or two. We can correct this! Here's what we do:
In extreme cases, buzzing is caused by a poorly fretted fretboard. Could be a victim of cost-cutting at the factory where the linesperson doesn't level the frets. Could also be the nature of wood warping a fraction of a millimeter. Could also be caused by excessive fretwear found on older guitars, or heavily played ones. These types of problems require a full fret level, crown, dress and polish - and what you get is better than new! Here's what we do:
The first step to repairing a wiring issue is to test the part in question, isolate the problem and assess what needs to be done. This is usually a fairly quick thing so we don't charge for this.
Once the issue(s) has been isolated and diagnosed, the defective parts are replaced, faulty wiring redone and full functionality will be restored.
Faulty or worn out output jacks can make for your worst gig yet and it's a huge pain in the ass. On most guitars in the "affordable" range, the part is simply really cheap. We like to replace output jacks with quality Switchcraft ones.
A scratchy sounding Vloume or Tone knob can usually be fixed by turning it back and forth a bunch of times. This is because most players crank 'em both to 10 and leave it there. Somtimes they get too dirty and old to fix and need replacement. In other cases, the "pots" are budget units that simply don't cut it.
We like to replace any crapped out or cheap potentiometer with a quality CTS unit to ensure 100% funtionality, no loss of tone and solid reliable service.
Faulty or worn out pickup selector switches renders your guitar not functional and is a huge pain in the ass. On most guitars in the "affordable" range, the part is simply really cheap. We like to swap out faulty switches with quality Switchcraft ones.
Pickups. The biggest upgrade you can do to a guitar. We all drool at the selection available in the pickup marketplace. On many low and mid-range guitars, this is where the manufacturer cuts costs. They either outsource their pickups from China, from namebrand factories overseas, or at their very own factories overseas. Not always, but usually this means you'll be wanting to upgrade at some point. Kinda hard not to, with what's out there these days - high output, PAF replicas, Signature Models, etc.
A poorly installed pickup is like taking one step forward and two steps back. If you're not experienced in pickup replacements, come talk to us. We can make sure you get the most out of your new pickups!
We're happy to help get your guitar singing again with old-school service and a passion for guitars. You won't find that at the big-box stores.
